Egas, Daniela Elizabeth, 42, of Guayaquil, Ecuador, passed away on 2/19/22 surrounded by family and supported by many friends, Daniela had a courageous fight against cancer. Our hearts are heavy, but we know she is enjoying heaven and looking upon us.

She is also survived by her parents Ruben and Fabiola and siblings Fernanda, Fabiola, and Hector and her nieces and nephew.
Daniela, or Dani to her family and close friends was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador. She graduated from Universidad Catolicade Guayaquil as Suma cum Laude, and had an exceptional training in Pediatrics in Miami Children’s, and later in Pediatric Oncology at University of Texas, MD Anderson. Daniela was board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics with a subspecialty in pediatric hematology and oncology. Dani fought Pediatric Cancer in Naples and Southwest Florida for over 7 years, she was the only pediatric oncologist of Collier county. Daniela will always survive in the minds of the children and families she took care of as if they were their own. She guided them through the most difficult time in their lives. She was always there for them and she was recognized as “Best Doctors” by her peers.
Daniela loved to teach, being a pharmacology teacher for many years for her medical school. She loved learning different languages and was able to speak over 6 languages. Over everything, Dani loved to spend time with her devoted husband and children. She wore many shirts; as a doctor, a pediatrician, a pediatric oncologist, but her most important priority was always being a great mom. Dani loved to play table games with Ruben, Dani, and Christopher. She liked pool and beach weekends and a good laugh with her family and friends. Daniela loved traveling with her family and she will always live through her amazing children and husband.
Daniela was also a devout catholic. Her faith was never lost and her prayers to the Virgin of Guadalupe will always be kept in our minds. Our hearts are heavy on earth for her early departure, but we understand that God needs her in heaven to help him.
