Softball Tournament Promotes Community Spirit and Builds on Special Memories

The second annual Cholangiocarcinoma Awareness Softball Tournament organized by the Bryant Family was held in March 2024 in Colonial Heights, Virginia.

The family started the tournament in memory of their mother, Christine Bryant, who always was on the sidelines cheering on her four kids: Brandon, Kayla, Raylynn, and Scotty

Building on the success of last year’s tournament, the family was able to register more teams and secure additional vendors.

The family also designed and partnered with a local company to print softball jerseys. The jerseys were sold at the tournament, and proceeds were donated to the Foundation.

In all, the event raised $1,835. Brandon was very pleased and is gearing up for year three. “We are already planning bigger and better for next year and setting the goal for next year to raise at least $2,000.”

Christine’s four children know the difficulties of dealing with a cancer diagnosis and understand the importance of helping others. One of Brandon’s favorite Jeff Warner quotes that he has tried his best to live by since his mom passed away in 2021 is, “We are not put on this earth for ourselves but are placed here for each other. If you are there always for others, then in time of need, someone will be there for you.”

Thank you, Brandon, Kayla, Raylynn, and Scotty!
