The Strati Family Continues #ChelleStrong with 2024 Golf Outing
The Strati family’s commitment to honoring the memory of their beloved Michelle “Chelle” Strati and raising awareness for cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer) has inspired a wave of support and generosity. In October 2023, the entire family participated in the Indianapolis Marathon, raising an impressive $14,393.
Just weeks before, they hosted the first Annual #ChelleStrong Golf Outing in South Bend, Indiana. This event united 108 golfers for a day of laughter, golf, and community, raising funds for research and patient services. Chelle’s children, Noah Strati, Samantha Singleton, and Aubrey Grossnickle, along with their spouses, organized the event, supported by a vast network of extended family, friends, and community members.
The event caught on and they jumped at another chance to host it. This past September, another successful #ChelleStrong Golf Outing took place at the Blackthorn Golf Club in South Bend. This year’s event accomplished the goal of uniting friends and family to honor Chelle’s memory while raising funds for critical research. Friends, family members, and neighbors raised over $15,430 to help advance CCF’s mission. When Chelle smiled, her eyes disappeared, and her entire face lit up. The smiles on the participants of the Golf Outing mirrored Chelle’s spirit—bright and beautiful, reminding everyone why they were there. Participants honored Chelle by sharing stories about her love for bringing people together.
In addition to the Golf Outing, the Strati family plans to lace up their running shoes again for the Monumental Indianapolis Marathon on November 9 to raise more funds and awareness for cholangiocarcinoma.
The Strati family is determined to continue advocating for CCF research.
“Between the golf outing participants, our run, and just the extended family AND friends we’ve touched, it feels like a very solid start on the awareness piece.” Alex reflected, “Clearly honoring Chelle will always be the backbone of our motivation.”
The Strati family’s efforts have not only raised substantial funds for CCF but also fostered a spirit of unity and hope among all who knew Chelle and those who continue to be inspired by her legacy. Visit here to learn more.
We had a moment of silence for everyone affected by cancer, which was powerful. My dad also touched on our passion for raising enough for a Research Grant. As you know, my mom was the beneficiary of research that bought her an extra 4-5 months, allowing her to attend my sister’s wedding. Raising money for research that eventually can buy family time with their loved ones is very realistic and something we hope to give to another family going through this. It was cool that my dad shared this so our family, friends, and community would know where their hard-earned money was directed. -Noah Strati
