Announcing the Patient & Caregiver Engagement Committee for the Annual Conference
We are thrilled to introduce the dedicated members of our Annual Conference Patient & Caregiver Engagement Committee! Since early fall, this group of passionate patient and caregiver volunteers has been working tirelessly to create an enriching and supportive experience for all attendees at the upcoming Annual Conference (April 9-11, 2025). Their mission is simple but powerful: to ensure every patient and caregiver feels connected, supported, and empowered throughout the event.
The committee’s initiatives focus on fostering meaningful connections through fellowship activities, breakout sessions, and specially designated supportive spaces. Patient committee member Duncan Foley shares his gratitude for the chance to give back, saying, “I’ve been very fortunate in my journey, and I’m happy to help the Foundation in any way I can, as it has supported me so much.”
For legacy caregiver Alie Plouff, being on the committee is all about crafting an experience that embodies the Foundation’s core values of hope and community. “I’m thrilled that our committee is committed to enhancing the patient and caregiver experience,” she says. “The committee is dedicated to developing sessions and experiences tailored specifically to the our community. Our goal is for everyone to leave the conference feeling empowered and filled with hope.”
Legacy caregiver Ambuj Srivastava echoes Alie’s enthusiasm. “It’s an honor to be part of a committee that genuinely cares about growth and inclusiveness. I know firsthand what it’s like to attend this conference as a first-time caregiver and then return. This committee is about creating a supportive space where everyone feels valued.”
Together, Duncan, Alie, Ambuj, and the entire committee are dedicated to making this year’s conference a memorable, inclusive, and transformative experience for patients and caregivers alike. Each member brings unique insights, compassion, and creativity to the planning process, and we are incredibly grateful for their commitment.
