CCF Chicago Cholangiocarcinoma Symposium

Strength in Community, Hope in Research

On September 27, 2024, the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation hosted the Fifth Annual Regional Symposium at the David Rubenstein Forum in Chicago, bringing together patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers for an inspiring day of education and collaboration. The symposium fostered meaningful discussions that are critical in advancing research and raising awareness about cholangiocarcinoma, a rare and challenging cancer of the bile ducts.

The event was generously sponsored by AstraZeneca, Incyte, Servier, Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Daiichi-Sankyo, and the University of Chicago Medicine. Attendees heard from renowned experts like Dr. Juan Valle, Chief Medical Officer at CCF, and Dr. Nicolas Goldaracena, Surgical Director of UVA’s Living Donor Liver Transplant Program. These presentations highlighted the latest advances in systemic therapies, precision medicine, and innovative surgical techniques, offering hope for improved patient outcomes. Mrs. Jean Dorman’s personal story added a powerful human perspective, reminding everyone why these advancements are vital.

Through open dialogue and collaboration, events like this symposium are key to moving the cholangiocarcinoma community forward, advancing research, and extending support to those impacted by the disease.

The next symposium will be held in Houston on December 13, 2024. Please visit here to learn more and register.
