Julie—I’m in Plymouth, about an hour north of Milwaukee. Used to do some antique shows in Iowa. Walnut, Cedar Rapids and a few others. Spent time in Des Moines and have been to several of the casinos on the way there & back. :) One of my sons lived in Cedar Rapids years ago, too.

Julie, Unfortunately I don’t have your restraint. I am one of those keep cutting a little more people. :) Although I don’t have diabetes or CC. still not good to eat too much. Yes, coffee, Kringle and a nice chat would be great. Maybe some day—-Darla

    Julie,

Good choice! :) Almond Danish Kringle is one of my favorites. I have to admit I do also enjoy a good glass of wine now & then, too. :) I admittedly am not always a healthy eater, but yes, we all have the right to make our own choices.

I have to agree with Margaret as it seemed the same with Jim. First all other causes were eliminated, then after they suspected cancer, all other cancers were eliminated before finding that it was only in the bile ducts.

    Labrador,

I would like to add my welcome to the others. We all have asked ourselves the same question. How did this happen and so fast. It just seems to come out of know where and really knock you down. I am sorry that you and your family are now part of our club, but glad you have joined us as you are in the best place to be for help and support concerning this disease.

You have already gotten a lot of good advice and I agree with all that has been said. a second or third opinion is a good option and also that comfort and pain control is very important.

Please let us know how your brother is doing and know that you have people here that really do understand and care.

    Kris,

I’m sorry I don’t have any answers for you either and am so sorry for everything you two are going through. If caring thoughts, love & support can make a difference you and Mark have a whole lot of that coming your way. Thinking of you and Mark and hoping that things start getting better. soon.

    Lots of love & hugs,
    Darla

    Crissie,

I think the more we know about this disease the less it makes any sense. My husbands liver enzymes were always normal until near the end. He was what we thought was health except that he was starting to tire more easily, and started to have pain in the upper right abdomen. After 5 trips to the ER, several misdiagnosis and all test imaginable he was definitively diagnosed as having interhepatic CC contained to the bile ducts only 10 days before he passed away.

As Lainy put it, all we know for sure is that we don’t know much, or enough. Hoping that this keep changing and that in the future we will have more answers and better ways of early detection.
