Somehow I missed this post. Yes, I totally agree with everything that has been said here. They will all be with us forever and their voices on this board will be sadly missed. RIP

    Susan,

I too am so sorry for your loss. I am sure it is a comfort to you that he passed so peacefully. He is no longer in pain or suffering and is in a better place. He will be with you and your family forever in your hearts and memories. He will be watching over you and never far away. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

    Mayra,

I too am so sorry to hear of your loss. Know that Eddie will always be with you in your heart and memories. He is now free of all the pain and suffering. I too lost my husband to CC and it isn’t an easy road to travel, but you will be OK and we will all be here to help and support you. Try to concentrate on taking care of yourself and Kayla now.

You may not realize it, but you are stronger than you think. I think you are handling things in the best way that you can. You are doing all you can do for your mom and I am sure she knows that and is very proud of you. Don’t forget to take care of yourself, too.

Yes, it seems that shaking is a common symptom. Nothing about this disease is easy and I am sorry you and your family are dealing with all of this. As for her wanting to touch the sky, could be a reference to The Kanye West song Touch The Sky. “For the day I die I’mma touch the sky.” Yes it may be symbolic of what she is thinking and feeling.

    Melanie,

I hesitated answering as my situation was so different, but you are so right, material things are so irrelevant. We had sold 2 homes and our shop and are renting as our plan was to move to Arizonia eventually, well, that didn’t happen. Jim passed away exactly 2 months after his 62 birthday. I was 60 at the time and as it turns out, had we done that, I would now be sitting out there alone in a house worth about 1/3 of what we paid for it as the economy really took a down turn shortly after he passed. Where I am now, I can manage and have friends and family near. That great house out in Arizona couldn’t have changed what happened and it would have been a burden and meant nothing to me any more. My only regret is that my husband got this rare cancer and was taken from me so quickly, but I had no control over that. I guess you have to weigh your options and do what you feel is best for you and your family. I know you will be able to make the right decision. As your husband said, he would do it in a heartbeat. Good luck with those 2 very energetic kids. :) Thinking of your and your family.

Good for you. I’m sure they will be great. :) My son is a tattoo artist and after my husband passed away he did a memorial tattoo on my shoulder. He also had a friend who used to work for him do a portrait tattoo on his shoulder a few days before he passed so his dad got to see it.

As to your mom’s issues, I can’t be of much help. In my husband’s case, once things got going everything went very quickly from one thing to another, but that is not always the case. Sometimes fluid can be drained. This type of cancer is so unpredictable and seems to affect everyone differently. Hopefully someone else will post that has had some experience with this. And no, needing to know is not crazy. It is this disease that is crazy.

Your Mom sounds like a strong lady who is doing the best she can. Good luck with the tattoo’s. :)

I agree with Kathy. We should all do what we can to stay healthy, however my husband was told the same as her. Nothing he did or didn’t do caused his CC and as my boys were concerned about it being hereditary, we also inquired and were told it is not.
