Dear Varun,
Sending my deepest symapthy to you and all your family on the loss of your beloved Mum.
Katie
katieloumattMemberHi Varun,
I would like to echo what Lainy has said.
I was wondering if the hospice movement is at work in India? Hospices focus on the comfort of the patient in a holistic environment either within the hospice building or within the patient’s own home via the outreach/homecare service. Support is also offered to the whole family.
Sending you strength as you journey along your Mum’s path from this world surrounded by the love of her family.

katieloumattMemberWow Kimmie,
Your poor hubby, keeping all this to himself was his way I guess to protect you and he was probably thinking if it was ‘nothing’ he may never have to worry you…..
I know right now your thoughts are probably with the worst case scenario after everything you have just dealt with with your Mum. Just to let you know I am thinking of you and your husband at this time. Fingers crossed for him.
Katie
katieloumattMemberLinda,
Just to add my best wishes as the others have done for your very important consult with the onc from Mayo.
Fingers crossed, enjoy Bon Jovi if you decide to go.
Katie
katieloumattMemberHi,

Katie
katieloumattMemberHi RDH,
I would just like to join all the others in welcoming you to ‘our family’.
Hope your Dad’s recovery goes well, come back and let us know how he is doing.
Katie
katieloumattMemberMichelle,

katieloumattMemberDear Nick,
I am so sorry for you and your family to be in this position with your darling Dad.
As the others have said, your Dad sounds very ,very sick and I think he needs to be either cared for in a hospice or if you have the suppport to maybe have hospice care in his own home.
The hospice staff will look after you as a whole family, focussing on comfort and dignity for your Dad. Realistically, ICU is not set up for that type of scenario….
Hoping you manage to find some support to enable you all to deal with the journey ahead of you.
Katie
katieloumattMemberHi Kimmie,
I just wanted to offer my support to you. I know exactly how you are feeling. My Dad died June 2009, 7 weeks after his cc was diagnosed. I understand the pain, shock, anger and sheer hurt within your heart…
Part of you wants to get back to a ‘new’ normal life but then part of you wants to stay in the recent time when it was only ‘last month’ that your dear Mum was still with you.
It feels wrong that the rest of the world is getting on with their lives when you are grieving.
I know it is a cliche but time does help, it doesnt ever lessen the hurt but the shock and raw pain you feel right now will fade and your Mum’s memory lives on forever in your heart….
Take strength from sharing your memories with your sister. It is still such early days for you all plus you have the added uncertainty surrounding your Dad.
Sending hugs your way,
Katie
katieloumattMemberHi Kris,
