Dearest Porter, you are our strong little girl! I would do exactly as you are doing. I truly believe that the best way to rid ourselves of these unwanted items is to go big and kick them to the curb. I am having my stitches out in the morning and will have to soon make a decision to radiate or cut out again the same type of tumor on the other side. What is helping me the most is it has only been 2 weeks and am not afraid to do it again. Sure don’t know why some of these nasties like us so much, we don’t welcome any of it. I marked my calendar and I will be sending prayers over to you and the day of, I will go in to my cheerleading and as usual the surgery room will be filled with all of us. I so want to see you get the biggest and bestest break ever!!! I am so thinking of you!

YEA! Scott I am so glad it is in. Is that what they call a blood bath? SORRY! Wait, maybe the lineman’s last name was Dracula? I hope and pray for everything to run smoothly for you now. and with great success!

Hello David Ells and welcome to our fabulous family and best place to be for CC support. Congratulations on your surgery as that IS one of our favorite words. May I ask what kind of surgery you had and what is the follow up treatment plan. The surgeries do take a good amount of healing time. But if anything is wrong please let your Doctor know.
One of our newer members is also from Nova Scotia, I believe it is Kentville? Scott is fabulous and I hope you 2 are not too far apart. The best feeling in the world is to meet another family member. Happy you have become an active member besides being a big reader. Hoping for you to start feeling much better and please do keep us posted on your progress.

Oh my goodness, Pat. I know many celebs pass from cancer and they rarely say what kind. Somehow I missed the liver cancer of David Bowie. Sad, but I can tell you my husband, Teddy loved music and I am sure he is trilled to meet all the arrivals from cancer. Not sure that you are in to Jazz but T and his Bro had a bar for a few years near downtown Milwaukee and he happened to help Al Jarreau get his start when Al was 19. Helped him with college too, Al is a very bright man. T had high regard and respect for many entertainers, who by chance used to eat at his mom’s when they visited town.
I always feel that we could be good help to celebrities who get the draw of CC if they only knew about us. Be that as it may, a little Ziggy stardust never hurt any of us so please sprinkle some down here.

Scott, the Pic Line is not bad, really. With the surgery I had 2 weeks ago to see if I have a brain, they used a smaller version called a Central Line. It was put in on the upper left of my chest while I was “under”. All the LABS and Blood work and anything else that comes in a needle was totally pain free and I wish it for you as well. It was only held in by one stitch at either end. Didn’t hurt coming out either. My Teddy had a Pic line when he had his Whipple Surgery and it really does save getting poked at a ton. I would ask the “linemen” as I think they call themselves, about your coaching the “other” linemen! BTW, in a previous post of yours you mentioned being a hillbilly? Well, you are my favorite hillbilly and I know my “billy” will get over this “hill”.

Oh, Lorraine, I feel so much better about this as it all says pretty much what I thought above on Feb. 4th. What a great Prof. Wigmore is! I had def. thought the drain needed changing and that is what is casing the decline in Donnie’s health! I can’t wait to read the outcome!!! I hate to sound pessimistic but the place that treated/not treated Donnie the way they should, should not be taking in CC patients! Sorry about that and so happy about what the Prof. wrote. Good luck to Donnie. You bet you have hope now on the horizon!!!!

Hi Scott! That RX you are questioning is an RX a friend of mine takes for “diarrhea”. Not itching. My Teddy used to itch so BAD and we discovered a cream called Sarma. REALLY, REALLY works well. You can get it at any major Pharmacy over the counter. I am wondering why you are itching so badly. I think you can use it up to 2 weeks. I know it is freezing where you are but a cool shower helps too. Or even some ice packs.

Scott, I have tinnitus with a hissing in my ears all the time so not the exact same but I do understand. Here is a cute story: I had an Aunt whom I loved dearly. She was a very religious Jew. As she got older she also got tinnitus but hers was like a radio playing “Christmas Music”. Can you imagine? That is the only music that continuously played in her head…… I think one was Joy to the World!

Dearest Lorraine, I would run, not walk to another Doctor! Yes, the drains have to be replaced about every 6 weeks to 3 months. Sounds to me like the simplest treatment to change to a new drain would solve a lot of problems. Also it is the norm to have scans every 3 months! I am very sorry to say this, but I am raging upset for you all! It sounds to me like whomever is treating Donnie gave up some time ago. I hope you can get him to another Hospital as it appears a change of drain would give Donnie some improvement. To me their treatment, or no treatment, is barbaric! A clogged drain can cause the Jaundice which will cause the Billie to rise and a change of drain will improve things quickly. I would also keep a log of what they have NOT done as you may want to use that down the road! I can only wish you the best and someone needs to grab hold here to right the wrongs!

Best of luck Catherine, with Dad. I go in on the 11th for stitch removal and the “big” discussion on to RAD or not on the new tumor. It is such a huge puzzle as to why I am prone to these benign tumors. Guess I have over worked my brain all my life!
