SpectatorI love sweets but have cut way back on them in the last few year. I have always loved fruits and vegetables and have never eaten a lot of processed foods. I always wonder if mine was caused by taking Lipitor but the studies are inconclusive. I have also read a lot about Dioxin and exposure being a risk factor. I recently read about Dioxin in food fillers like guargum.

SpectatorHello Lady Linden,
I am a little late in posting but I was diagnosed in 2010 and after a resection chemo was recommended. I was so afraid like, Mary, that I would be sick and my quality of life would be poor. I had a port placed which was great and proceeded with chemo. I remember the first treatment sitting in the chair waiting for something awful to happen and nothing! We went out to lunch after. I did have fatigue and minor nausea that was treated with zofran. I since have tried three other chemo regiments but my tumors were not very responsive to chemo. I have had great success with steriotactic radiation and the only side effect was some minor fatigue. I like Percy’s advise, try 6 rounds and get a CAT scan to see if it is working and also ask about radiation. If you would like to talk to me please feel free to call me at 330-903-6868.

SpectatorI agree with Lainy. I would insist on talking to the doctor first and shame on him/her for scheduling a procedure and notifying the patient by mail. I think it could be time for a second opinion.

SpectatorI had my PET/ CT scan today. My radiologist just called and the scan showed some slight uptake in an area they radiated in December. The uptake number was 3.5 so not too worrisome but since my tumor marker increased they will be discussing my case at the tumor board meeting. He said we might biopsy the area, we could possibly use radiation or maybe surgically remove it. Please keep praying.the good news is there is no other cancer anywhere in the body.

SpectatorHi everyone,
CA 19-9 results are back and the new number is 44, so up just two points from September. Since the number did not go down my doctor wants to do a PET scan next week.
Thank you in advance for your thoughts and prayers.
