    Pam..
Sounds like you have everything covered…just wanted to let you know I have a dual port and was never asked to show my card…I also had a script from my Dr. stating I had a port but it was never an issue…I hope Lauren and Gio have a wonderful time….

Hi Pam…As with everything with this disease…I have no answers…but I can tell you that after my first resection I did recieve 5-Fu along with 4 other meds…I don’t remember all of them now but I know I did receive Gemzar…Leucovorin….sorry can’t remember the other two….I received chemo over a 2 day period and tolerated it very well…second time I had chemo I took Xeloda…Nexavar…Abraxane and Gemzar….Nexavar and Xeloda I took orally and went 1 day every other week for infusion…I have to say I experienced more side effects my second round of chemo which I might add was with a different Onc….I know you are a terrific advocate for Lauren…I realize this does not help much…I feel I tolerated 5-Fu better then Xeloda also…but as my surgeon tells me chemotherapy is a not a science its an art…Praying for Lauren!

    Hi Percy
I do not know my A1C level because my blood sugar was never high enough to run that test….I do not have diabetes….I will bring the article the next time I see my oncologist and see what he thinks about it….Low blood sugar can be a big problem so I look forward to your updates on this …..thanks again!

    Hi Percy
First of all I would like to thank you for all the hard work and time so many of you put in for the greater good for all….This article was also of personal interest to me since I did have ICC ….my question is who will prescribe the Metformin for you? I would be willing to try this also…my bloodsugar is at 87 so it is very good I just can’t see my PCP prescribing it for me but I would like to give it a try….any suggestions on what I may present to her to convince her?
    Thanks

lovedad…Sorry I didn’t see this until today….I’m in Phillipsburg NJ….now for the last 17 years…I grew up in Roselle Park which is in Union County very close to NYC so it was not an inconvenience to travel there….although I would have gone any place….Dr Myron Schwartz is in charge of the liver transplantation/surgey department at Mt Sinai Hospital…his office is on 98th Street…his phone number has changed but I have the old one and they will give you the new one it is 212-241-2891…Dr Schwartz operated on me when I was told no by another hospital in the city….in fact he has operated on me twice…he is caring, compassionate and a very smart cookie…he’s my hero…best of luck to you and your Dad…you are doing everything you can for him….he is a very lucky man to have you fighting beside him!

Hi LoveDad….So so sorry you had to find all of us here ….just wanted to weigh in on Morristown Memorial Hospital….I did have chemo there with Dr. Stephen Schriebman for CC recurrence…he works very closely with a Dr Fine from NY Presbyterian…he is very aggresive and knows much about CC….just hope that this can help a very little bit….Hang in there and keep on loving your Dad….

Thanks to all for the well wishes…Randi I know you will be posting in this section very soon!!! Pam the tree is spectacular! So big and bright I think I take it for granted…we go just about every year…Christmas time in the city is special but very crowded! It was great this year we saw the tree at about 6 pm we got closer then we have been in quite a few years…so the earlier the better! As always I’m wishing everyone well and praying for a cure if not early detection for this disease….I’m amazed at all the wonderful people who share on this website!! If anyone wants to see this amazing tree I would be happy to be a tour guide…I also know alot of really good restaurants in the area….Yum!
