What wonderful news, Richard.
Hugs to all of your family,
MarionsmarionsModeratorFatherson,
if you have time to do so, check the McCrea blog, as they had explored this option, also. I am not sure as to whether they had decided on a location for the treatment but, they did commute to L.A. for their medical needs.
MarionsmarionsModeratorRichard,
Please, tell your Dad that many good wishes are coming his way, again.
MarionsmarionsModeratorCarol,
so good to hear about Charlie. The recovery can be lengthy and difficult. I made sure to focus on every improvement, even if minor, on a daily basis. Peter had his experience with this, also.
Post-surgery radiation would be of interest to me also. Hopefully, we can all shed some light on this.
Hoping for each day to be a better one for Charlie.

I don’t put much value in to the statistics, and even if I did, I would focus on the fact, that someone has to be in the top 10% of the equation.
This might very well be redundant to say, but you are taking back with you to Sweden all medical records, right?
Fight and hope, the two things most intertwined, will lead to success.
Have a save flight back to Sweden.
Oh, and by the way, I would love to have that other inch in order to be 5marionsModeratorThanks for sharing this and continued good health to Teddy.
MarionsmarionsModeratorRichard,
you can count on it.
MarionsmarionsModeratorDear Ted,
Thank you for sharing Patty’s and your journey. Both of you are in my heart forever.
All my love
MarionsmarionsModeratorDear Varun,
So sorry to be hearing about your Mom but am happy for you to have found us. The question in re: to chemotherapy is something under debate for all of us, as it is helpful to many, and yet not to others battling this disease.Until others can respond to you, it might be helpful to enter
marionsModeratorWhen considering any surgeon, any chemotherapy, any other way of treating this disease, information is the key in the decision making process.
I consider all information including Newspaper Articles, Radio or TV, Clinical Data, Peer Review, patients sharing their own experiences, to be valuable tools in reaching the goal of making an informed decision.
MarionsmarionsModeratorDear Laura,
So sorry to hear about Tommy’s cancer being more widespread than originally thought to be. Surgery is the only way of determining the true extent of this disease.
I am sending my best wishes to Tommy and you and hoping for a speedy recovery from the surgery and for the antibiotics to take hold of the infection.
MarionsmarionsModeratorMike,
you might want to also read the Coburn blog where Joe is being treated with IPT.
MarionsmarionsModeratorLinda,
great to hear about your Mom’s positive response to the IV antibiotics.
Hoping for Mom to be home with you real soon. Her Birthday is not too far off, also.
MarionsmarionsModeratorTom,
have you tried the search function by entering “Davanat”? It is always a good place to start until others have a chance to answer you. Hope this helped.
MarionsmarionsModeratorlandr,
While reading through your previous posts I noticed that Rob’s Mom had also been given Avastin, which has been linked to strokes in about 8 % of the cases. Were you given a reason as to why the physicians in the ER ruled out chemotherapy as the possible cause?
Hoping for a speedy recovery.
