ModeratorDear Julie,
I am so sorry to hear this news, but I have complete faith that all will go well. They will get this spot out, you will heal and be right back to being the best grandma ever!!!
You are in great hands when it comes to medical care, and ask all the questions that come to you in this time before surgery. Do what ever you need to put your mind at ease.
I am so jealous you are so ahead of the game for Christmas…….my resection was December 21st, 2009. We did Christmas on the 20th…..kids didn’t complain they were able to open presents early! I remember the rush of getting everything in order, so I could be at ease for surgery. You got this thing down….everything is going to be great. Sending prayers and hugs your way.

ModeratorScott,
I actually remember having an ammonia smell for awhile too! I am thinking it could possibly have to do with not eating as much and maybe going into a state of ketosis???? Not sure, but it did go away for me….and I have never had it again. Sending lots of positive thoughts your way for your treatments.

ModeratorI can’t imagine just being done, I would think that every 6 months would be perfectly acceptable until 5 years and then yearly……I know I have heard that somewhere but would have to research where. I also think it depends on insurance coverage of course!!
Congrats on 3 years of clean reports!!! That calls for a party!!!! Celebrate!

ModeratorOh Katia,
I am so sorry you are going through this. I wish I could help with the stent problem, but I have no experience with them. I am sure someone will chime in soon. Please hang in there and keep us informed of your dad’s progress. Praying the bilirubin comes down so he can have additional treatment.

ModeratorMatt,
Just a thought for you to ponder……maybe the rise in the CA19-9 is that the Keytruda is demolishing the cancer cells and it is in your blood. For me, the only time my CA19-9 was high was when my tumors were shrinking. So I choose to believe that for you as well!!

ModeratorDear Scott,
Welcome to this amazing family that no one really wants to be a part of, but are so glad to have each other. Keep that positive attitude, I believe it will get you far. I was diagnosed at age 41 and am now 47! I have had resection, recurrence, several rounds of chemo and most recently have had great success with an immunotherapy clinical trial. Don’t lose hope. Please keep us updated on your progress and don’t hesitate to come here for support. Here is a great link to start with…

ModeratorDear Iyvyo,
Welcome to this group. I know you will find much support here. I have been in a clinical trial for the past 3 years, and fortunately having a great response. I don’t know much about the trials in Italy, but as with any treatment, gather as much information as possible and your girlfriend’s mom will have to choose what she feels best about. Please keep us posted on what she decides and on what her progress is. Hugs and prayers your way!
