Lainey, your following quote made my day. What an absolutely beautiful thing to say. You are such an inspiration to this Board and we are all blessed by your devotion to it.

“By the way, one doesn’t need a great ending to attain success or to give inspiration. I will keep posting on here as long as they will have me because I love to feel I am helping another CC Caregiver or patient. It’s the least I can do in Teddy’s honor. Selfishly, it helps me get through each day as I can just feel all the love and caring flying through cyber space.”

Dance everyday like it is your last dance.

    Hugs, Hugs,
    Nancy

nancypkeen, when was your husband treated with resection. Is he doing well now?

    Hello Isisman,

My husband had a resection at Sloan Kettering in August 2007. He goes for his 3 year check up in two weeks and hoping and praying he continues to get a clean bill of health. So far so good…………

    Hi Mary,

Enjoyed your post and love your upbeat spirit. So wonderful your husband is celebrating 4 years. My husband is also a CC survivor. He did have the resection and it will be 3 years this August. I saw where your husband has been diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. We, too are dealing with that. Our doctor has assured us the two cancers are not related at all which is comforting. I see your husband is going to go with the seed implants. We went to the doctor last week and I think that is the route we are going as well. He has been doing the watchful waiting for over a year but the last biopsy shows the cancer is now in five sections, vs. three in the previous biopsy. His PSA has still never been higher than 3.5 and his Gleason score is 6 so we have been holding off but now feel it is time to do it.

    Best wishes!!

    Hi Sallypa,

So sorry to hear about your sister. PLEASE get her to go for a second opinion. My husband was given the dreaded news that he needed to get his finances in order because he had six months to live because of his CC. We went to Sloan Kettering in New York for a second opinion and they took a whole different look at his cancer. He had a resection by Dr. Jarnagin and we loved him. I would highly recommend him for a second opinion.

    Hugs,

    Hi Nancy,
I love hearing about your success story!! If you don’t mind me asking – who was the surgeon at Sloan so we can recomend him to others in the NY/CT areas???
    Thanks for sharing the news!

    Hello Ashley,

Ron’s surgeon was Dr. William Jarnagin, he was wonderful and I would highly recommend him. He was very honest and straightforward but still kept a very compassionate bedside manner about him. We live in Virginia and traveled to New York.

    Kris,

I am a caregiver and have not posted in a really long time. I read the board weekly and you truly are such an inspiration. Your zest for life always warms my heart. You are going to the top of my prayer chain and will be in my continued thoughts.

My husband Ron goes on Tuesday for his six months check-up. He typically has CT scans but will be doing a PET Scan this time, just to be on the safe side. His resection was in August, 2007 and so far has been very blessed with no reoccurences.

Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone and hugs coming to all of you.
