Journey of Hope: Day 19

In driving terms, today’s schedule was a short one, as I was in the car for less than two hours. I needed time to update my schedule, confirm stops over the next 10 days, and conduct an interview with Lake Hopatcong News; a local newspaper. As always, my wife, Linda was helping me get back on track with organizing swag handouts, and compartmentalizing the painted rocks I’m supposed to be distributing along the way. As an added bonus, two of our grandchildren also helped Linda with this project. Thanks, Cole and Campbell!
Driving in PA, this afternoon, I passed a billboard that made me chuckle. It said, “Every Road Trip Has a Story. Create Yours“. I wondered how many people pass that sign and ask themselves why anyone would ever even want to go on a road trip. Then just before arriving at my hotel in Bucks County, PA, this evening, I passed a farm with beautiful grounds and a very long tree-lined driveway. A sign at the head of the driveway said “Journey’s End”. That brought a smile to my face as I wondered how I’ll feel when arriving home at the end of this journey. If anyone is still reading these notes, I’ll let you know in another three+ weeks.
Once I enter DE tomorrow, I’ll have been in 24 states on the journey so far; half of the lower 48. Progress is being made!
