Matt was diagnosed with perihilar Cholangiocarcinoma in 2013 at age 47. His treatments included a successful resection, recurrence at one year, gem/cis chemotherapy, a failed second resection attempt, six weeks of daily radiation and oral chemotherapy, and finally success with 18 months of Keytruda immunotherapy.

Matt has been off-treatment for over three years and considers himself cured. Shortly after diagnosis, he retired from a 30 year IT career and now spends much of his time supporting patients, caregivers, and the Foundation while enjoying every single day with his wife Amy and four children.
