CCF Celebrates National Cancer Survivors Day – 2023

CCF aligns with the National Cancer Survivors Day Foundation’s definition of a survivor as anyone living with a history of cancer – from the moment of diagnosis through the rest of life.

Who is a cancer survivor?

CCF aligns with the National Cancer Survivors Day Foundation’s definition of a survivor as anyone living with a history of cancer – from the moment of diagnosis through the remainder of life.

What can I do to celebrate survivorship?

National Cancer Survivors Day is a special occasion that provides an opportunity for cancer survivors to celebrate their journey and share their experiences. Here are some ideas on how cancer survivors can celebrate survivorship on National Cancer Survivors Day:

  1. Share your survivor story with CCF
  2. Support survivors by volunteering; become a mentor with CholangioConnect
  3. Join the CCA Warriors Facebook Page
  4. Connect with other survivors through CCF’s Support Groups
  5. Learn about the International Cholangiocarcinoma Patient Registry

What else can I do to spread the word?

Take a photo or video that depicts how you soar to support CCF’s theme, Survivors Soar, and share it on your social media using the hashtags #NCSD2023 #CCAHopeSoars. Please also tag @Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation.

You and your family can write messages of hope and gratitude on recyclable paper and fold it into an airplane and fly it off a high peak. Click here for some paper plane folding instructions. You can also get creative and fly a kite, launch a balloon, or light a lantern. The sky’s the limit!

Social media is a powerful resource to publicize National Cancer Survivor Day. Some example posts are provided in this NCSD Toolkit that includes other helpful tips. Social networking also gives you an opportunity to fundraise for the recognition day. Watch this video on how to do a Facebook Fundraiser.
