Love the pictures! Thanks for sharing.

betsySpectatorThe procedure I was supposed to have today (glueing the bile duct) was changed to a tube change and choloangiogram. The drainage output numbers have come down enough that my doctor wants to try capping the bag. I’m excited and scared all at the same time.

betsySpectatorMy tumor showed up on a CT scan. Diagnosis was confirmed with a liver biopsy.
I”ve had several brushings since then and they have all been negative.Betsy
betsySpectatorI took a medication called Cholestyramine (4 gram packet 3-4x/day). It really helped me. The itching was unbearable. No amount of lotions, ointments, oatmeal baths helped at all.

betsySpectatorI read this book over the summer. It is truly an amazing story.

betsySpectatorI couldn’t agree more! Lainey, thanks for everything you give.

BetsybetsySpectatorHi Kris,
I’m so glad you are back home with Hans and your kitties. Its hard to believe you were in the hospital for 2 months.
hugs,
BetsybetsySpectatorHi Mary –
Glad to hear Tom is doing well after his procedure. That’s such great news! I hope he continues to feel good. Now he is appointment-free until January, right? Wonderful!I’m still feeling pretty good….still scheduled for procedure on Nov. 19th. The drainage has dropped off a little – who knows, maybe its finally healing. As long as I feel good, I can make peace with the drainage bags. It will be a year this January.
I am a Brown’s fan but must confess I don’t follow them too closely. My husband and son are going to the game this Sunday. They’ll give me the highlights
You have a farm, right? All tucked in for the winter?

betsySpectatorHi Mary.
Is tom still going in tomorrow to have stents removed? Please tell him best of luck from me!Betsy
p.s. how are you?
betsySpectatorHi Val,
I did have significant hair loss after my surgery and I was jaundiced. My doc said it was due to poor nutrition. I did use a product called Nioxin shampoo and conditioner. Its supposed to promote hair growth, The conditioner smells like peppermint and its really a treat. It is sold here in the states and I do think it helped….especially the conditioner. Sorry to hear about the “wind” What do you think is causing that? I can’t smell much of anything tonight….I’ve been drinking wine! My sister has a theory that the many months without wine has made my liver lazy – it needs a work-out! Since I’ve gotten the green light from my doc, I’m doing my best to test her theory. I’ve been feeling great these past couple of weeks and I think its because I haven’t had a tube change…or maybe its the wine (tee hee). My next appointment is Nov. 19th and I’m kind of dreading it. Oh well, as you said, compared to so many, we have little to complain about. But it does help to share stories.Glad to hear from you. Please let me know how tomorrow goes.
Cheers!
BetsybetsySpectatorHi Valjee,
How are you doing? Any updates or have I missed your postings?

betsySpectatorKris,
Hugs and kisses….so glad your sis is there with you.Betsy
betsySpectatorHi Mary,
So glad to hear about Tom’s MRI and good labs. Yeah! I’m glad the weather cooperated today and he had a safe trip. Once he gets his tubes out, he’ll be a new man!Hi Tom,
Thanks for checking in – still leaking and still scheduled for a surgical procedure on Nov. 19th. My doctor is going to try and glue the leaking duct, that is if he can find it. This will be the longest I’ve gone between tube changes and I have to say I’m feeling so much better. I haven’t been as tired and my appetite is better. For the first time in 1-1/2 years I had some friends over and it was so nice! Kinda felt like my old self again. How’s everything with you?Betsy
betsySpectatorHi Mary,
Good luck to Tom tomorrow. I hope he has good results from his MRI and blood work. It is hard to stay on top of regular follow-up appointments when you are busy putting out fires. I usually have to call my surgeon to find out when he needs to see me again.Betsy
betsySpectatorGreat Rad Man!
