    Hans,

What a lovely way to remember Kris’s birthday. She is greatly missed by so many and her wit and wisdom is missed on these boards. Cherish those memories Hans. She will always be with you in your heart and memories. I think of you often and hope you are getting on OK, or atleast as best you can.

    Dear Debbie,

I can only echo and agree with what everyone else has already said. Our journey with CC was over in 2 months time. Jim has been gone for 3 years and yes, we do go on. How, I’m still not sure, but we do. Yes it is lonely and yes I still miss him terribly. There will always be a hole in my heart that will never be completely filled, but although it does not seem likely to you right now, it does get a little easier with time.

Know that I am thinking of you and your family and share in your grief and sorrow. Keep coming back here. It really does help. We are all here to help and support you and your family in any way that we can.

    Love & Hugs,
    Darla

    Hi Jeremy,

I found and signed your petition shortly after it was posted. My situation is much the same as your mom’s. Jim passed so quickly from this disease that he wasn’t even considered for disability. I turned 60 shortly after he passed away and was atleast able to get social security benefits. I’m sorry that your mom was not treated with more compassion when she inquired.

My claim was also denied for the same reasons. The few claims that have been approved so far have all been boots on ground and Jim was stationed on an aircraft carrier 3 miles out, although he also spent time in those countries like your dad. I too am not ready to give up for myself and for all those others who have or will have claims like this in the future. Hopefully if we keep fighting for this eventually things will change.

I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts are with you, your mom and your family.

    Dear Adam,

I am so sorry to hear that Petra has passed on. I am glad you were able to share some happy times together as those memories will help you and your children through this sad and trying time. Those memories will be with you forever. Petra will remain in your thoughts and hearts forever. Take care and come back and let us know how you and the kids are doing.

You and your family have my deepest sympathy. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

    Julia,

I guess I had Tuesday & Thursday confused. In any event, thanks for the information. I feel so badly for her family. She always seemed so positive. I never expected she wouldn’t make it through this procedure. Glad her brother was able to have a good conversation with her before she passed. That will be something for him to remember and cherish. My sympathy to all of her family and friends.

    Oh Julia,
Thanks for posting this. That is so sad. I also met her here and on Facebook and saw that she was going in on Thursday but expected to be home on Friday. May she rest in peace after a courageously fought battle.

I have to agree with you two ladies. Some people are just toxic to us and we need to stay away. Whatever it takes. I have a few of those situations too and am learning that it is best for me to stay away and stick with those who care and are supportive.

I’m another none caller. I too talk when people call me, but don’t often make the calls myself.

Theresa, it sure does seem that your daughter has some sense of knowing when she is needed. You are fortunate to have her in your life.

    Theresa,

Thanks for posting this good news. Glad you have things more under control. And thanks for bringing awareness of CC to your work place by wearing your CC shirt and green ribbon on pink day along with the pink one. Good job! :)

    Love & Hugs,
    Darla
