Dawn, my wife, had her resection done in January of 2006 at Rush University Hospital in Chicago. She recently had a CT scan, – 8 1/2 years still cancer free. We hit a millstone last summer, as our oldest daughter was married, recently received news that she and I will be grandparents early next year. We sincerely thank the Clements family all of you involved in the foundation and this web site then and today.

    Hello Heather,
My wife Dawn was 47 when she was diagnosed with CC. That diagnosis was done in November of 2005. She was able to have surgery and is cancer free today. I wish you and your husband all the best in this difficult journey.
    God Bless,
    Richard

Then I heard a voice from heaven say, “Write: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.” (Revelation 14:13)

    Thank you Jeff

You will always be in my hear and mind.

Keep doing what you are doing Phoebe. Above all, keep the positive outlook, continue to learn, and have regular scans performed. A healthy diet with lots of antioxidant juices is great insurance as well.

Dawn, my wife, is a three year survivor after a liver resection in January of 06.

All the best and God bless.

    Hello Stacie

This is indeed sad news. Peter is one the first people I had communicated with both here and on the JH board almost three years ago. He has always offered insightful advice and displayed great courage in the face of his illness. Though his journey here is coming to an end, his memory will live with us all. Thank you Peter.

    God Bless

    Hello Jeff;
I want to take this opportunity to thank you for all your words of knowledge, humor and kindness shown to so many of us here on the board. Dawn and I will pray for success in your continued treatment.

“The King will reply, `I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.’ (Matthew 25:40)

    God bless you Jeff

Great news Heather, hope all goes well for you and Lee there. We have some experience with the Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN, it was not involving her CC however. She was diagnosed with Lupus there at Mayo about 12 years ago. The first impression was that it is a bit like an assembly line as you wait and wait in many different rooms for a number of preliminary tests and exams. Everything begins to come together however in a few days as the different teams consult and come together with a diagnosis and an action plan. We used Hotline.com to get a reasonable price on one of the downtown hotels, which makes going back and forth to the clinic very convenient. Dawn

Please excuse any strange spelling – doing this on a blackberry. Dawn had her stent done at Lake Forrest Hospital by a Gastro Dr named Dr. Haddesman. He did a good job and was the person who made the original CC diagnosis.

    Best whishes
