I was on Gemzar/Xeloda for about 18 months and they worked to stop the tumor from growing, but it didn’t stop it from metastasizing to the lungs. Gemzar is usually tolerated pretty well.

I just read her blog. Her sister writes that she is still hanging in there. She was able to see her son Levon graduate from high school. However, she is in the process of dying.

    That makes me so sad.

My oxaliplatin infusion is due tomorrow. Ugh. I wonder if I can take a chemo break for the summer. I’m really sick of chemo since being on it since Sept 07.

    Hi Wendy,
I don’t know about microwave ablation, but my jaundice cleared up in a couple of weeks or less with the sent put in.

Psa 116:15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.

Jeff was truly a saint on earth to those of us struggling with cc.

I have noticed that if I have an egg, it helps control the nausea a bit. It’s hard for me to change my eating habits. I love fatty foods, which of course wreaks havoc with my system.

I’m going to be trying more organic fruit and veggies from a local farm, too, to help control the craving for fats.

Mmm, I’ll give it a try. Nothing like having acne when you’re middle-aged :(

Tiffany, are you anywhere near the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN? I would have them take a look at my records and get their opinion. They have experience with this cancer and cc patients.

    Good luck!

I echo what G says – and would also add that looking into adding him to your health insurance may be a wise decision. I’m on STD right now, and going to have to pay Cobra.
