My new stent was blocked right away, and instead of roto-rootering it, my doc chose to simply replace it. These stents are tiny, and it was probably easier to replace it. She should feel better once the bile is flowing

Tumor markers differ from person to person. Mine have always been near normal, even though I have Stage IV cancer.

Sounds like you have made beautiful arrangements. I wish I could be there with you and pay my respects. I’m so glad that the Mass was arranged with both the priest and the rabbi. That seems so appropriate, given your faith and Teddy’s faith.

God bless you Lainy, as always we will be with you in spirit and in prayer.

Congratulations, Bob! I hope you will be able to see your new granddaughter soon. A baby is such a blessing.

Sorry to hear you are in the hospital again. I hope you will get better soon. I didn’t know you live in Seattle. I live about 60 miles north of Seattle, in Stanwood.

When I think of Teddy, I see him playing golf in Heaven, and he is happy and healthy.

I have the slow growing type of cancer. I was diagnosed in August of 2007. The cancer is now in my lungs, peritoneum, bile ducts, and liver. The largest tumor that shows up on the CT scan is only 2-3 cm. The left lobe of my liver is not functioning.

In spite of that, I continue to live a full life, and like the song says “live like you are dying”.

God has graciously preserved my life so far and I am grateful.

Lainy, you and Teddy were an inspiration to us all. Not just because of the bravery you both had in fighting this horrible disease. But also because you showed us all what true love really is. May the peace of God console you and your family in your loss.

    Dear Lord,
Eternal rest grant unto Teddy, and may perpetual peace shine upon him.
    Amen

Wis 3:1 But the souls of the righteous are in the hand of God, and there shall no torment touch them.
Wis 3:2 In the sight of the unwise they seemed to die: and their departure is taken for misery,
Wis 3:3 And their going from us to be utter destruction: but they are in peace.
Wis 3:4 For though they be punished in the sight of men, yet is their hope full of immortality.
Wis 3:5 And having been a little chastised, they shall be greatly rewarded: for God proved them, and found them worthy for himself.

Dearest Lainy, I am so sorry that you and Teddy have to go through this! You trusted them and they are betraying that trust. I hope you get through to them that T needs to be kept as pain-free as possible. What’s this about Tylenol being bad for his liver? ARG! It is not right for him to suffer. Again, I keep you both in my prayers. I love you both.

Hi Andrea – how wise for you to ask for advice.

Speaking for myself alone, when I am in the hospital I am really sick and don’t want to see anybody. I just want to be alone in my misery and feel like I’m obligated to perk up when visitors come. I also don’t like being the center of attention.

This might change if I am in the hospital or hospice in the future. I will probably want to see friends and family more. I guess the best thing to do is to listen and respect the patient’s wishes.

I echo all the warm words and sentiments expressed by everyone else. You and T are precious people. We all feel like we know you. You and everyone else here are in my prayers nightly. God bless.

Jen, I pray that they can get the pain under control. I am so sorry that your family has to go through this, especially your poor dad.
