SpectatorHi,
Welcome to a wonderful group of supporters. I was diagnosed two years ago at 45 years old. The initial diagnosis was so shocking I couldn’t think straight. Like Percy said, knowledge is key. Our children are 15 and 21 and we have been upfront with information but not enough to totally freak them out. I find when I am upset and sad it carries over to my family and changes the mood of our house. I stay positive knowing that I trust in God and my doctors.

SpectatorI use Miralax daily and it helps and does not give me cramping or gas.
Good luck

SpectatorI see the oncologist on October 5th for a scan of the abdomen and he will look at port pain then. He offered for me to come in sooner but now that I know it’s not a blood clot I will just wait till then. I asked for an abdomen and chest ct scan but they said only abdomen would be done at this time. I explained that I wanted the lungs looked at too but office said after he examines me he can always order another cat scan of the chest area. I would rather do it all at once…uuugghh

SpectatorMarion,
Good thought, I will definitely ask next week. That would make sense since it hurts with movement.
I love this group

SpectatorSandi,
Wonderful news! Here’s to continued clear scans.

SpectatorI had an ultrasound today which showed no blood clot in or around the port. The test also showed that the port is in tack and no swelling or infection around it. This is such a relief but I still have a lot of pain so probably more testing next week to find out what is causing the pain.
THank you everyone for your responses.

SpectatorHello,
My hair thinned but I did not lose it on Gem/Cis or 5FU. The chemo made me tired and a little nauseated but nothing too bad.
Good luck

SpectatorI just celebrated two years of life. I currently have two tumors that have been radiated and waiting on a scan in October for results.

SpectatorLynn, the anxiety is so awful. I get it before all my appointments, my minds just won’t settle down. I will pray that God comforts you though the night and also, that treatment options are good tomorrow. If you need someone to talk to someone please feel free to call me 330-903-6868.
