Journey of Hope: Day 2

Day two of our journey had Linda and I heading west from Twin Falls to Boise, ID for a scheduled meet-up with Cindy Thomas of the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation staff, and Steven Banks, a local cholangiocarcinoma warrior. It was great to meet Cindy personally, as she was the first foundation staff member to hear of my vision for this journey, many months ago. I’m happy to say that Cindy embraced it from the start, and Linda and I were excited to embrace her today!
Meeting Steven Banks was a “Wow” moment for me, for a variety of reasons. Not only does Steven have has his own personal story of fighting cholangiocarcinoma over the past five years, and he is also a member of Idaho2Fly, a support group based in Boise, that supports men with cancer. This is something that is woefully lacking.
Idaho2Fly was created to fill the void of support groups for men with any type of cancer, in a safe, reflective environment. Not only does the group bring men together to deal with their own cancer, it also teaches them how to fly fish. How great is that!
Steven then shared something remarkable with me; which left me speechless. Idaho2Fly will be donating $1,000.00 to my Journey of Hope, on behalf of the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation. Amazing!
