SpectatorI haven’t had my blood pressure checked with the sit down/stand up test. Good idea. Also, I should probably get vitamins and electrolytes going. My blood pressure has been high since all this started. One thing that concerns me is that the tumor has been wrapped around the IVC for over a year. Maybe the vena cava is getting squeezed? Who knows? I see the nurse for a blood draw on Tuesday, so I’ll ask then.

SpectatorHi Trevor,
It sounds like the tumor was caught in an early stage. If it is too small to notice, then it may be resectable. Since resection is the only cure, I hope that you are indeed one of the lucky ones!Radiation and chemo are helpful in keeping the cancer at bay, but don’t offer a long term cure for most people.
Also, I have noticed that the younger you are when diagnosed, the better chance you have for living longer with this disease.
Best of luck!

SpectatorI think the radiation and chemo treatments buy us time.

SpectatorSo glad to hear that there is nothing serious going on. Just a bump in the road!

SpectatorHi Lainy,
Have you asked Teddy’s doctor? That’s just not normal.
I thought that a PET scan was better than CT also, but we know how tricky and sneaky this disease can be. Hopefully there is no reoccurance of disease, but just another bump in the road for you two.lisa
SpectatorI really don’t like Oxy although it seems to be working for me. I miss my ice cream and cold milk.
lisa
SpectatorIt’s been my head that is itchy. It was also my first symptom.

SpectatorFatigue is the one thing that unites all cc patients. I know it’s frustrating but you have to let her rest. I assume that I’m much younger than your mother, and I have had to retire from work because of the grinding fatigue.

SpectatorGood news, Kris! We love to hear about your happy liver.
I’ve got a little extra padding myself. I call it my “insurance” hahahaha! I figure it will give me a few more years.

SpectatorDanielle,
Just an FYI – be cautious with the Tylenol, as it is metabolized in the Liver and we don’t want to stress out the liver any more than it already is.
My doctor put me on ibuprofen to control pain and fever because it is metabolized in the kidneys.lisa
SpectatorKris (devoncat) had a bowel obstruction that was successfully treated a couple of months ago.
lisa
SpectatorGood news, Kris!
My scan is next Tues (4/14). Fingers and toes are crossed for good results.
lisa
SpectatorI love it. Thank you for sharing.

SpectatorSorry you are having all these troubles. I don’t know what to say except for get used to a reaction to cold when you are on Oxaliplatin.
All I have to say is:
Die, cancer, Die!
