Lainy and Teddy are an inspiration. I hope that T gets to go on his golf outing and enjoy himself. Lainy, don’t forget to take care of yourself, too.
Much love,
LisalisaSpectatorThanksgiving happens to fall on my birthday this year, and I am very thankful to be alive 38 months after diagnosis!
lisaSpectatorAdrianna, we have found that the best results are found by those who find doctors with experience in dealing with cholangiocarcinoma. With your mother, it may be that she is a candidate for liver resection, which offers a possible cure. It may be possible to shrink the tumors with radiation and chemo, then attempt a liver resection. I don’t know the specifics of your case, but I do wish you and your mother the best possible outcome. I am also a single parent of three college aged students, so I kind of guess what your family is going through. Best wishes and prayers, Lisa
lisaSpectatorAlways nice to hear good news from Lainy and Teddy. You are two remarkable people.
lisaSpectatorI am ashamed to say I snapped at my mother yesterday. We’re not supermen and superwomen. I am exahusted and overwhelmed after 38 months chemo and all the other treatments that go with this disease. I hope that your husband regains his will to live and be husband and father to his family.
lisaSpectatorWhy must they make it so difficult for you? You have patiently put up with all the crap, been incredibly brave under the worst conditions, and are trying to co-operate with their programs. ARG! I am frustrated for you.
lisaSpectatorI’m so sorry to hear that your husband is in such bad shape. I agree with Lainy – if hospice is called then there is a possibility that he can be made more comfortable. It’s hard to expend so much energy in pain, nausea, and vomiting.
Best wishes for you.
lisaSpectatorLinda, best wishes for your consult. I’m with Lainy – take it very easy and quiet and reserve your strength. Something I’ve learned the hard way is just because I “can” do something doesn’t mean I “should” do something. I can’t “will” myself into getting better or not getting sick.
I am also concerned about your fevers and pain. When I have those symptoms, it means the bilirubin is rising and I am getting cholangitis. I pray you can hang in there to see the onc at Mayo.
lisaSpectatorI add my best wishes, prayers, and support to everyone else’s on this board.
lisaSpectatorGavin, thank you for sharing your memories about your dad’s learning to ride a horse. It made my day.
lisaSpectatorI’m glad Teddy is comfortable. And happy belated 78th birthday wishes to him! Lainy, you’re the best. I hope that your hand can be fixed up as good as new.
I’m sure the Pope would be happy to know that Teddy is so loved.
lisaSpectatorThe little Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation can accompish big things, I am sure of that! Thank you for all the great work you do.
lisaSpectatorBest wishes and prayers for a positive outcome!
lisaSpectatorI’m sorry that you are going through such difficult times. You and Hans continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.
Love,
LisalisaSpectatorStent clogging cause my infections, but that’s about every 6-8 weeks. I hope Karl feels better.
