Congrats Lisa! 5 years is indeed a wonderful milestone and you have been through so much that it must feel extra specially good.
So happy for you!
-Randi-RandiSpectatorSo glad when i stopped by I could read you wonderful news. I have had 3 cancers and 5 years seems to be the tipping point, however, with CC it seems that they like to leave it in my hands. I am 6 years out in December and the doc gave me the choice of whether to come back in 6 months, 1 year, or never again., since there had never been a sign of cancer since my surgery. Kind of daunting and I think I’ll choose the 6 months interval for at least one more time.
I have always gotten MRI with and without contrast. The CT requires a larger IV and you have to drink that chalky stuff which sets my intestines back for about 6 weeks. The doc decided that we would do MRI’s from about the first year and I think they are clearer images and easier to do for me. I believe as long as they are comparing Mri to MRI or CT to CT you will see a change should one occur.
Hope you had a great celebration for your milestone!!
Hugs-
-Randi-RandiSpectatorJust saw the same thing and stopped by here to post it but you beat me to it. Sure sounds like CC to me. Sad.
RandiSpectatorThat is awesome Cathy!!!
RandiSpectatorWell, I am not sure I am a hero but I do feel incredibly lucky to have lived through these 3 cancers to tell the tale!
Cathy: You captured it. Cancer doesn’t define me, but I know how fragile the world is and I think that’s a blessing.
Hugs to all-
-Randi-RandiSpectatorThat’s great news Lisa! Congratulations.

RandiSpectatorHey Chica!! I know we talked already about your good news and your landmark 5 years but wanted to stop by here and say what a miracle you are and how much connecting with you on our journeys has meant to me! You are a rockstar.
Hugs,
-your fellow chica!-RandiSpectatorThat’s great news about your Mom! I just passed my 5 year anniversary in December. I can honestly say I NEVER forget that I had CC (or my other cancers). They are there in my mind most days, however, the fear is mostly gone until I am heading for a scan, then it returns but is much less than it was years ago.
I too searched and searched for survivors. I remember stalking people on facebook to see if they were still with us. We all do crazy things to find a nugget of hope. My wish is that this post gives somebody or many somebodies hope for the future.
Hugs to all and you all are never far from my thoughts and prayers.

RandiSpectatorWow Mike! You are a superstar. You’ve had such an amazing result from your treatment. My hope for you is that you continue to feel good and those nasty tumors stay away!

RandiSpectatorAwesome! that worked Marion. I see others were suffering from small font syndrome as well!
RandiSpectatorBrilliant Lainey!! Good news to hear.
I haven’t been on the board in a bit because everytime I do (including this time) the screen is super small and it’s hard to read, but I could definitely read your good news!RandiSpectatorGreat news! Bravo! Enjoy all of the celebrating.

RandiSpectatorThanx everyone. Nancy: you’ll have to remind me again what normal is
RandiSpectatorThank you everyone! I really did not think I would be here in 2014, much less be healthy. I try and take each day as it comes and these past five years have been some of the most rewarding (and challenging) for me. I met so many wonderful people on my CC journey. Thanx again!
RandiSpectatorCarlos,
I am so sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. I hope that soon wonderful memories of your mother replace the sadness and loss you are feeling right now.
Best wishes,
