Thinking of you, Lisa!
willowSpectatorPercy,
I am so glad to hear from you. Any news from you, even if it is rough, is appreciated. So many here care about you and want to be “with” you at this time of your life. Sorry you’ve been feeling less purpose… Your purpose simply by being yourself is influential and helpful to others. We have all felt despair and helplessness at different times. Let others’ strength and love uplift and comfort you.
God Bless, WillowwillowSpectatorCongrats Lisa, on being neary finished with this treatment! I understand the joy and freedom of biking. Love those charity bike rides.. We have some lovely ones here in the CA Napa Valley wine country if you’re ever out this way! Anyhow, what you’ve been through treatment-wise is like a marathon in itself so be gentle as you ease back into your athletic endeavors. Living in the moment helps ease the unknown of “what’s next” as far as treatments go. That’s how my sister gets through things.
Take care,
WillowwillowSpectatorRosebud,
My sincere condolences on the loss of your mother to this awful disease. May she rest in peace.
I hope this foundation can help you find answers and comfort.
WillowwillowSpectatorMary,
You really are amazing. Glad to hear of the small successes in your energy level. You truly are blessed to have your daughter and son in law supporting you. My sister just started irinotecan (by itself) at a reduced dose (due to history if low platelets from other previous chemos) a few weeks ago and is doing ok.. Fatigue but not severe. She naps a lot. Just wanted you to know you’re not alone in this situation.
WillowwillowSpectatorSurfer,
That us wonderful news! Please keep us posted on his surgery and recovery. Really, resection is the ideal situation!willowSpectatorMary,
I agree that this is a tough decision that only you can make. Had not heard of Ritalin being used for fatigue but that is intriguing. Glad they got the bile duct blockage taken care of. I hope a couple more days of rest brings you some perspective. Best to you!

willowSpectatorDear Chrisna,
So sorry about your best friends diagnosis. This is a scary diagnosis and you have come to a great place for support both for your friend and yourself.
Try posting your friends story as a new topic in ‘introductions’ and give a little info about your friend. Also, use the search function to look up discussions about anything. Lastly, look at the free E-book that answers 100 questions about biliary cancer:
This booklet is invaluable to all touched by the disease of Cholangiocarcinoma. We hope to have this booklet to be on display in all oncology offices treating cholangiocarcinoma patients worldwide.
Expect translations in Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Chinese, and Korean within the near future.
The e-version is free of charge to you.
Please know that the cost of the hardcover book ($25) helps defray the printing and shipping expenses.http://www.cholangiocarcinoma.org/book.htm
willowSpectatorJan,
Please repost your introduction under new topic, introductions. More people will be able to see it and give advice. Sorry to hear of your husbands situation. Like Marion said, the molecular testing gives information that can sometimes guide treatment though it’s relatively new and many drugs are still in the experimental testing stages. Best to you.. Lots of support here.
WillowwillowSpectatorMary and Percy,
You are both in my heart and on my mind… Sending love and comfort.
WillowwillowSpectatorNancy,
I agree with the advice given above. The important thing is that you’re both getting the support you need right now. This is a precious time, even as it is painful. Take care,
WillowwillowSpectatorPorter,
That is fabulous news! So happy for you and your family! You have so much to celebrate! Wishing you few side effects with the new chemo.
WillowwillowSpectatorGood news, Kris! Thanks for he update.
willowSpectatorLisa Craine lives in Ohio and may be able to make a rec closer to home. There are many good CC centers and its best to simply get multiple opinions first. Keep in mind that most doctors try the existing treatments before they consider clinical trials.
