SpectatorThanks for the summary, Marion. I am glad that they talked about the so called “bedside manner” of physicians.
After my resection failed, one of my oncologists woke me up from a drugged morphine induced snooze to basically tell me that he was sorry, that there was no hope for a cure. The indignity of it was that he charged be for the “visit”. Baa humbug!

SpectatorFelt better today, although I spent a good deal of it on the toilet (too much information!)
I’m starting to take Metamucil, which will help keep me regular and drown the taste of the Xeloda pills.

SpectatorHi Simpstw,
thank you for sharing your success story with us. I am convinced that as this cancer affects everyone so differently, chemo will work for some and not for others.I am so glad that it worked in your case! And Rose, prayers for you that you get healthier so that they can try resection on you.
It’s been almost a year since my attempted resection, and I am feeling ok except for fatigue. I expect and want to be around for a few more years yet.

SpectatorI’m bummed out, too. I have felt lousy this past week and weekend. I don’t know why I thought that I could continue on physically feeling fine when I have this horrible disease. Is it ok to give myself permission to feel sick sometimes? I don’t know how I’m going to hang on at work until the end of April.

SpectatorDear Rose,
My heart breaks for you. Don’t listen to the prognosis. The doctors don’t know how much time we have left. Only God knows. Let your man fight for his life and support him as much as you are able.lisa
SpectatorRose,
I did right before I was first diagnosed. Lainy recommends Sarna for the itching. I do think you should see your doctor ASAP about the itching so they can get your bilirubin down and relieve your itching. I know, it’s almost unbearable! I had stents put in that relieved the itching within a couple of days.lisa
SpectatorI’m not a doctor, but from what I have read, chest pain may be caused by lung mets. I’d ask his doctor.

SpectatorI was starting to date the man I’d been in love with for years when I was diagnosed. Well, that killed the “intimacy” part of that relationship, for sure.
We’re still friends, but the cc sure made any progression of the relationship impossible.
On one hand, I miss the intimacy, but on the other I am glad that someone I love and who loves me is spared the kind of pain that others have gone through. It’s bad enough to have my children and parents see me go through this experience.

SpectatorI think that makes sense, Irene. I’ve always been on the Rubenesque side of the scale, with a larger waist and slimmer hips. I never had hormonal issues that I know of, but did have early menopause (age 42).

SpectatorOW! feet hurt! pins and needles!
Waahhh.
Good luck, Kris! Hope you come through it better than I did.
lisa
SpectatorOW!!!! Stay away from the cold stuff!

SpectatorA lot of people have really liked the book “Anti-Cancer”, which is available on Amazon. I think that book includes nutrition information as well as a lot of other helpful information.

SpectatorHi Hollie,
Sophie is always especially in my prayers when I pray for everyone here on the cholangiocarcinoma board. I hope you figure out something that will work for all of you and will allow Sophie to be taken care of. I live 18 hours away by car – I wish I was closer to help out.
Loving you all,
Lisalisa
SpectatorI get to have my cell poison (oxaliplatin) today. Yippee! (NOT!)
lisa
SpectatorNo, I’m just getting the lovely infusion of cell poison once every three weeks.
By the way Jeff, you’re still my hero and my inspiration! God bless you and Valerie.
