LisaSeptember 11, 2012 at 1:37 am in reply to: What Will You Do After Adjuvant Chemotherapy Is Done. #64291lisacraineSpectatorHi Percy,
I am on a break from chemo till October 5th when I will have a scan. The six week break makes me very nervous, it is like a love-hate relationship with chemo. I feel good not being on chemo but on the other hand I feel like I am not being proactive to fight my cancer. I changed my diet about a year ago and went to a vegetarian diet almost vegan and I drink a green juice most days. I do cheat once in awhile with a good steak but try to be good most of the time. I have read a lot of the cancer assassins website and do a lot of research on the food we eat. I loved forks over knives. I have done acupuncture which helped with pain. I am very interested to read what others have tried and what is working. Thank you for your thoughts.
LisalisacraineSpectatorPam and Lauren,
I am so happy Lauren’s pain has gone away and she looks fantastically healthy!
Praying for lots of shrinkage tomorrow.
Love you both,
LisalisacraineSpectatorKris, I am so sorry you did not get the news you wanted today. I am glad that your doctor has other options for treatment. What about a second opinion with another liver surgeon ? Maybe you already did this but I can’t remember. I will continue to pray for that resection for you.
Hugs, LisalisacraineSpectatorAdam, I developed a hernia which causes pain but I also have numbness and pain sometimes. I agree with Derin that over eating can cause discomfort too. Have you tried a binder when exercising ? This might help.
LisalisacraineSpectatorPrayers for you, so sorry you have to go though this.
lisacraineSpectatorHi Adam,
I am so happy that you could have surgery. I pray for a good next scan for you so that you can enjoy life with your new wife. I have had two resections and I still get that numb feeling on the incision line. Your wife must be an angel, it is a labor of love taking care of a cc patient after a resection. Nice to meet you, sorry it has to be here.
LisalisacraineSpectatorKris, you are in my daily prayers. Good luck my friend…hugs
lisacraineSpectatorWe spent about 4 hours at the Clinic, but if the lab was behind, that could add time.
LisalisacraineSpectatorI was diagnosed in September 2010. I had a liver resection removing 70% of my liver followed by six months of 5FU and lucavorin. Three months later I developed two new tumors so I had another liver resection removing 35% of my liver followed by 3 months of Gemzar. They stopped the Gemzar because I had developed two new tumors on Gemzar. I then had steriotactic radiation which destroyed both of the tumors. At the nextk scan I had developed one new tumor and an area of concern so I was put on Cisplatin and 5FU for three months followed by steriotactic radiation. I am off chemo till my scan on October 5th to see if the radiation was successful. If any new tumors have developed I will be considered for a clinical trial at The Cleveland Clinic.
lisacraineSpectatorCathy, what a wonderful doctor, thank you for sharing. Lisa
