SpectatorHi Janet,
You’re lucky to live in a place where the sea is warm. Up here in the Pacific Northwest, we freeze in the sea! I remember going to Florida once and being surprised at how warm the sea was. Even down in Los Angeles it is warmer than up here.We use swimming pools up here, (not quite the same thing as the sea) so I will remember your idea when/if I start getting really sick.
I do enjoy just sitting on the beach watching the waves come in off the ocean.

SpectatorI get my second dose of oxaliplatin (FOLFOX) this Tuesday and am not looking forward to it. It’s not the sensitivity in the hands that bother me, it’s the fact that I can’t drink or eat anything below room temperature for several days. I just hope this treatment is worth it.

SpectatorIt’s JUST NOT FAIR!
lisa
SpectatorI hope that they can get Sophie’s medication approved quickly so she can be more comfortable. She sounds like a wonderful, dear woman.
lisa
SpectatorYou go, girl!
You’re going to be on the same regimen that I’m on. I have had very few side effects, so I hope that you will be lucky in that respect, too.
“Cell poison”. Wow.

SpectatorHi there,
There are a few of us in the Seattle area. One of my doctors is Dr Phil Gold at Swedish Hospital. How is her bilirubin count? Does she need a stent? Symptoms of cc is abdominal pain and loss of appetite, so imho it is the cancer, not the stress.By the way, welcome to the site. Feel free to ask questions, and use the “search” function on the top of this page for specific topics.

SpectatorThanks, everyone. I guess I’m just tired of people telling me of someone they know who was cured of cancer, or if I have enough faith, God will cure me, or if I drink this or eat that, then I will be cured.
I’m realistically optimistic in that I hope to have a few more years, but that this cancer will most likely be the cause of my death.

SpectatorI’m not sure if it is that more younger people are diagnosed or that more younger people like myself are more computer-literate and inclined to blog our lives on the computer, or sites like this

SpectatorI’m so happy that your resection was successful! I hope and pray that your recovery is complete and uneventful.

SpectatorDittoes everyone else said. Jeff has been a hero to me as I have battled this dreadful disease. His willingness to be open and share his experiences has been so helpful to everyone on this board. Valerie, you and Jeff are in my prayers every day, usually several times a day. May God bless you both and give you peace.

SpectatorHi Stephanie,
I’m so sorry that you lost your mom. I can’t even imagine your pain. There is a place on this website for you to share your feelings with others that have lost loved ones. It is in the “Grief” section. The wise men and women there share your pain.
God bless you,
Lisalisa
SpectatorHi Carol,
Welcome aboard, although I’m sad that you and your husband have to be going through this. I too had problems burping and an uncomfortable tummy until I realized that my consumption of soda pop was causing those issues. I’m not sure that will help, but not drinking soda pop has helped me. As far as constipation, yesterday my doctor recommended I take Metamuci every day.lisa
SpectatorHi there! I’m glad you were able to have your surgery. The drainage bag is a pain, isn’t it!
We have our own Teddy here on this site who had a Whipple and is now cancer-free. I hope that you will be able to join him as a success story. Stick around, ask questions, and welcome to the club!
