Alexander "Al" Marzano
Alexander Marzano “Al”, 85, Army Veteran was a native Chicagoan from the north side of the city. He was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma in February 2019 and fought hard every day. He ended his brave battle on May 3, 2020.
Al graduated high school from Waller High and joined the Army. When returning from the service he became a Barber and owned his own Barber Shop. He later joined the City of Chicago Water Department where he retired in 1998 as Chief Operating Engineer with 26 years of service. He accomplished so much and built a strong and beautiful life through the years. His smile was infectious, his laugh was contagious and he had a fun-loving personality. His hobbies were endless and he looked forward to golf and fishing season every year. His hobbies brought joy to him but the biggest joy were his family and the people he was surrounded by his entire life. His family was always the most important thing to him and he loved being a “Nonno” and was very proud of his children. He will be missed every day and his beautiful soul will live on. We will remember his kindness, thoughtfulness, generosity, humor and unwavering optimism.
Please donate to Al’s memory so we can raise money for research to help cure this deadly cancer.
